MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — The flight deck of the USS Yorktown transformed into a concert venue Friday night as hundreds of people gathered for a patriotic summer kickoff celebration featuring country music star Brian Kelley. The concert, held at Patriots Point, combined live music, military appreciation and the start of local America 250 celebrations, drawing families, veterans, active-duty military members and country music fans from across the Lowcountry and beyond.
Long before Kelley took the stage, concertgoers streamed onto the historic aircraft carrier overlooking Charleston Harbor. Many arrived wearing red, white and blue, eager to celebrate both the start of summer and the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
