Unresponsive driver rescued after driving into pond: MPPD

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Officers with the Mount Pleasant Police Department rescued an unresponsive driver from a vehicle that had driven into a pond on Saturday.

Several officers responded to the Meridian Condominiums just after 6 p.m. on Saturday after a vehicle had driven into a pond, with the driver unresponsive inside.

Sergeant Connor Byrne was the first officer to arrive, and he immediately jumped into the water as a bystander was already at the vehicle, followed closely by Corporal Robert Mathewes…
