Residents demand answers after Dorchester Co. lifts stop-work order at The Ponds

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — Residents of The Ponds community in Summerville are calling for greater transparency and communication from both developers and local leaders after a construction-related stormwater issue prompted a county stop-work order last week.

Several residents brought their concerns directly to the Dorchester County Council on Monday night, saying the recent incident is only the latest example of what they view as ongoing problems tied to development within the community.

“The residents are not supposed to be the policemen and the babysitters for the county. I’m sorry. That’s not the way it should work,” The Ponds resident Rick Price said…
