COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Two Charleston men are facing charges after Colleton County deputies say they disrupted a counterfeit check scheme tied to Facebook Marketplace transactions.
According to the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested Jameco Khalil Hylant Harley and Corey Maurice Seabrook Jr., both 22, in connection with incidents reported May 24 and May 29.
Detectives said the investigation began when a Colleton County resident arranged to sell a utility terrain vehicle, or UTV, through Facebook Marketplace. The vehicle had been listed for $23,000.
