CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Charleston Water System completed a major milestone for the West Ashley Sewer Tunnel Extension Project.
After almost a year digging underground, the tunnel boring machine known as ‘Miss Harper’ has completed its journey through West Ashley, three weeks ahead of schedule.
The 20,000 feet of deep tunnel will replace the current near-surface main pipes under high pressure and reduce the chances of sewer overflow for decades to come…
