Former Charleston County deputy arrested after incident at Al Cannon Detention Center involving inmate

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A former Charleston County Sheriff’s Office deputy received several charges Thursday after an incident at the Al Cannon Detention Center on Monday.

On Monday, deputies say a surveillance video showed now-former Detention Deputy Karmen Robinson entering a storage unit with a male inmate. Shortly after, two different inmates lost consciousness, with one needing to be taken to a hospital, officials said.
