Public meeting set on plan to ease traffic, improve safety along US 17A corridor

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments will host a public information meeting next week to gather input on a plan aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving safety along a busy stretch of U.S. 17A.

The meeting for the U.S. 17A Corridor & Congestion Management Plan is scheduled for Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sangaree Middle School at 1050 Discovery Lane in Ladson.

Organizers say the session will give residents a chance to review current conditions in the corridor, share concerns about traffic and safety, suggest early ideas for improvements and discuss the proposed project with BCDCOG representatives…
