Tow truck driver arrested after alleged armed confrontation during repossession on Dorchester Road

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A 27-year-old tow truck driver from Gaston was arrested Wednesday afternoon after an alleged confrontation tied to a vehicle repossession in North Charleston.

Lydarius Eunique Wise is charged with second-degree assault and battery, and pointing and presenting a firearm, police said.

Officers with NCPD’s Central Evenings Team 1 responded around 3:45 p.m. to the 5600 block of Dorchester Road, where they learned the repossession agent involved was armed. Officers secured the firearm, detained Wise and began investigating.

Investigators said witness statements and video evidence indicate Wise struck the victim’s vehicle before the repossession attempt. Police also allege Wise tried to block the victim’s vehicle and attempted to force it to stop by performing a maneuver similar to a pit maneuver while following the vehicle on a public roadway…
