Man arrested after brief North Charleston chase, alcohol tossed from vehicle

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A North Charleston man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly led North Charleston Police on a brief pursuit.

24-year-old Raul Hernandez was arrested and charged with failure to stop for blue lights, open container of beer and driving without a South Carolina driver’s license.

The report on the incident states that at 10:51 p.m. a patrol officer observed a vehicle turning onto East Montague Avenue from Jenkins Avenue. While turning, the driver who was later identified as Hernandez, reportedly failed to maintain their lane, overcorrected several times and nearly struck a curb and center median.
