Berkeley County lands $22.5M federal grant for next phase of U.S. 176 improvements

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — Berkeley County has secured a $22.5 million federal grant to help fund the next phase of improvements along the U.S. 176 corridor, a project county leaders say is critical to improving safety and keeping up with rapid growth.

The funding comes through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development Grant Program and will help pay for Phase Two of the U.S. 176 Corridor Improvement Project.
