Mount Pleasant drivers hit with nearly 700 hands-free tickets in just eight months

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — It’s been almost a year since South Carolina’s hands-free driving law went into effect, and Mount Pleasant police say drivers are still having a hard time putting their phones down.

In just eight months, the Mount Pleasant Police Department says officers have issued close to 700 citations to drivers accused of violating the law.
