N. Charleston man arrested after telling officers his car was stolen day after high-speed chase, officers said

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Officers arrested a North Charleston man after he allegedly led officers on a high-speed chase on August 12.

The incident began around 10 p.m. when a North Charleston Police Department officer saw a vehicle with an inoperable tag lamp near the Waylyn/Terrace neighborhoods on the 12th, officers said.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly sped away when the officer tried to stop him near Dorchester Road and Constitution Avenue. The driver allegedly turned onto West Surrey Street and then again turned onto Accabee Street, where he finally pulled onto the shoulder…
