S.C. gas prices drop slightly

MORNING HEADLINES | Prices for gasoline dropped by an average of 2.3 centers per gallon to $3.59, according to GasBuddy’s survey of more than 3,000 stations across the Palmetto State.

That’s 6.7 cents per gallon lower than last month, but still 82.6 cents higher than a year ago, the survey showed.

“Average gasoline prices fell in slightly more than half of states over the last week while diesel declined in roughly half, as oil prices moved lower and offered some modest relief at the pump,” said Patrick De Haan, GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis. “Over the weekend, the Trump administration struck a major deal with Venezuela, a signal that the White House remains concerned about elevated fuel prices — though in reality, any benefits from increased Venezuelan output will take years to fully materialize and are unlikely to move the needle in the near term.”…
