Goose Creek Police arrest former firefighter on child sexual exploitation charges

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – Goose Creek Police Chief LJ Roscoe has confirmed the arrest of a former city firefighter on charges of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Wayne Leonard Sammons, a Goose Creek resident, was taken into custody on Wednesday.

Chief Roscoe stated that Sammons was fired from the Goose Creek Fire Department immediately upon his arrest. β€œHe was terminated on the spot,” she said.

According to Chief Roscoe, Sammons is being held at the Berkeley County Jail, where a judge denied him bond.

The Goose Creek Police Department is actively investigating the case.
