NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A ceremonial groundbreaking is scheduled for Wednesday to renovate an old hotel into housing for homeless veterans.
Tunnel to Towers Foundation acquired a former hotel at 2450 Prospect Drive to renovate and build new apartment housing for its Veteran Village in North Charleston.
According to the non-profit, once the construction is complete it will house 98 veterans and feature on-site support services.
Those services include: job training, benefits assistance, education assistance, financial budget management, legal advocacy, medical care access, mental health support and PTSD counseling, and addiction treatment.
Tunnels to Towers Foundation says they are dedicated to supporting America’s First Responders, Gold Star families, and Injured Military Veterans, and has committed to eradicating veteran homelessness nationwide.
