SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — A new robotic total knee replacement is now available in Dorchester County, allowing for more accurate medical procedures for surgeons and patients closer to home.
HCA Healthcare’s Summerville Hospital is offering robotic knee replacement surgery using the Mako system.
The hospital performed its first robotic knee replacement with the Mako system in January. The addition brings the Summerville hospital to eight robotic surgery systems total. Of its nine operating rooms, only one now operates without robotic capability.
