CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The former husband of a missing Charleston woman has been arrested and charged with murder in a decades-old cold case in New Jersey.
Authorities said Robert “Bob” McCaffrey, whose wife Gayle McCaffrey disappeared from their West Ashley home in 2012, was taken into custody in North Carolina. He is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the 1990 killing of Lisa McBride in New Jersey.
