Former Charleston County magistrate maintains innocence in jail calls

CHARLESTON , S.C. (WCIV) — News 4 has obtained hours of phone calls from former Charleston County magistrate James Gosnell made behind bars following his September arrest on six counts related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Gosnell was indicted on those charges with another man, John Thorpe.

Prosecutors say Gosnell and Thorpe conspired together to distribute CSAM. Gosnell pleaded not guilty of those charges last October, and was denied bond. The calls show that Gosnell remains defiant, claiming that he was a victim of hacking…
