NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A Charleston man was arrested Friday after crashing the car he was driving into a chain-link fence, ending a police chase that took him and the officers on Interstate 26 and through Aviation Avenue.
According to a narrative of events provided by the North Charleston Police Department, at around 8:20 p.m., law enforcement was patrolling a hotel area near Ashley Phosphate Road when they observed a car enter the North Charleston Lodge parking lot. The vehicle remained there for only moments before leaving.
