A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of sexual assault incidents in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) charged Khriz Angel Escobedo after multiple women came forward with reports of assault.
Arrest made in Mount Pleasant assault series
Escobedo has been charged with several serious offenses, including second-degree assault and battery, kidnapping, and attempted first-degree criminal sexual conduct. These charges stem from a string of reported incidents between February 23 and April 20, 2025.
Incidents detailed by victims
According to the victims’ statements, Escobedo approached them from behind in parking lots, charging at them unexpectedly. The assaults involved physical contact such as slapping, grabbing, or forced fondling.
At least two of the incidents took place at the Publix supermarket parking lot on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard, a location where the Mount Pleasant Police Department received multiple reports.
