Conservation leaders meet to discuss land preservation in South Carolina

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — More than 200 conservation leaders from across the state met at the Gilliard Center to discuss the future of land preservation at the Lowcountry Land Conservation Symposium.

Gov. Henry McMaster called land conservation “likely the most important issue of our time” as he addressed more than state and local conservation leaders.

South Carolina has more than 3.2 million acres of conserved land, with almost half of that protected land in the Lowcountry…
