CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — One former Charleston firefighter claims his poor health conditions from reported mold in one fire station made him feel like he was “waiting to die,” leading him to feel like he had no other choice but to resign.
Numerous Charleston firefighters have come forward, both on and off-the-record, reporting mold and unsafe conditions at over half of their fire stations for years, and they claim the city of Charleston did little to repair the problems.
