Charlotte City Council looks to crack down on illegal street vending, loud vehicles

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte City Council members are moving forward with efforts to address illegal street vending and excessively loud vehicles, two issues city leaders discussed during a busy day of committee meetings Monday.

The City Council’s Safety Committee voted to recommend a citywide ban on street vending and create criminal penalty options for repeat offenders. The proposal would still need approval from the full City Council.
