CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Antionette Rouse, the daughter of former Charlotte City Councilmember Tiawana Brown, agreed to a plea deal in the COVID-19 fraud case involving the family.
Rouse admitted she fraudulently received more than $51,000 in relief funds. Rouse conspired with two others — Tiawana Brown and Tijema Brown — to commit the fraud. Rouse admitted that the trio submitted loan applications for fake businesses that didn’t exist, using forged tax documents.
Rouse is the third and final defendant to plead guilty in the case. All three suspects await sentencing…
