A member of the Monroe City Council is facing an ethics probe, related to an alleged sex crime investigation.
Councilman Gary Anderson is named in a staff report by Mayor John Higdon and another member of the council. The report says the City Council has been made aware of reports that Anderson is being investigated by a Crimes Against Children Unit, in relation to an alleged incident with a minor that occurred in Charlotte.
The staff report says, in part, “While the Monroe City Council is not responsible for determining criminal liability, it is responsible for ensuring its members uphold the standards established by the Monroe City Council Code of Ethics.”…
