Man dies months after scooter crash along busy Charlotte road

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A man died more than seven months after he crashed a scooter along a busy road in southwest Charlotte.

The crash happened just before 11 a.m. on Nov. 1, 2025, along South Tryon Street near the Sandy Porter Road intersection.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said 53-year-old Johnie Wesley Mason IV was riding the electric scooter before he lost control and fell off. When police got there, they reportedly found Mason unresponsive…
