CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A child is in the hospital after Charlotte Fire crews rescued them from a retention pond in a South Charlotte neighborhood. Medic says the child is at the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Charlotte Fire says they got the call at 6:24 pm and crews arrived to Lady Bell Lane within five minutes.
Crews learned another child had seen the child go into the water on camera and told an adult who called 911. A witness told crews they saw the child go into the pond and try to make it back to the shore unsuccessfully. Dive crews searched the water and the child was found in 30 minutes…
