CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — More than 7,000 Duke Energy customers lost power Thursday night in the Charlotte area after strong storms blew through the area.
As of 10:45 p.m., there were nearly 6,400 without power in Mecklenburg County, across all utility companies, with most of those being from Duke Energy in Matthews and the Elizabeth neighborhood. Another 600 lost power in historic areas of west Charlotte.
Mecklenburg had the most outages in the state. Those are expected to be resolved by 3 a.m. Friday…
