MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An Indian Trail man will spend the rest of life behind bars after being found guilty of killing his 2-year-old son seven years ago.
The Union County District Attorney’s Office reported that 37-year-old Alden john Whitehead was convicted by a jury Friday in the murder of Louis Whitehead. He was charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.

He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Court evidence showed that in April 2019, Whitehead beat Louis to death at his Indian Trail residence. While under the exclusive custody of the defendant, who had him for the weekend, Louis sustained 10 separate injuries to his head, including a massive subdural hemorrhage, along with other bruising about his face and body…
