Police renew calls for help in solving 2020 deadly block party shooting in north Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Police are still looking for answers six years after a shooting at a block party in 2020 claimed the lives of four people and left several others injured.

Police said at least 181 rounds were fired during a block party along Beatties Ford Road and Catherine Simmons Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on June 22, 2020. Nine people were struck by gunfire, killing three. A fourth victim died after being struck by a vehicle during the ordeal, CMPD said. At least four other people were injured as vehicles hit them as they tried to run from the gunfire.

The victims were later identified as Kelly Miller, 29, Christopher Gleaton, 28, Dairyon Stevenson, 31, and Jamaa Keon Cassell, 39, police said…
