Trackhouse Entertainment Group has cleared its first big local hurdle. The racing and entertainment company secured Kannapolis City Council approval this week to annex roughly 20 acres for a new race-team facility expected to house research and development, maintenance and training operations. The annexation marks a major early step for the project and further concentrates motorsports engineering and shop work inside the Charlotte region’s racing corridor. Officials have not yet released a construction schedule or detailed workforce projections.
According to the Charlotte Business Journal, the council signed off on annexing about 20 acres to accommodate a Trackhouse facility that will support research, development, maintenance and training. The Business Journal described the vote, published June 25, 2026, as the first formal step toward development on the parcel.
