Mike ‘The Situation’ hopes his new rehab center in Charlotte area can destigmatize treatment

MATTHEWS, N.C. (WBTV) – Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, known for his role on MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” on Friday opened an addiction recovery center in the Charlotte area.

The Archangel Centers, founded by Sorrentino and his wife Laura, opened an outpatient treatment center in Matthews, North Carolina — a suburb of Charlotte — on Friday, July 24. The Matthews facility is the company’s second location, and is designed to offer treatment to people struggling with substance abuse.

It’s an issue close to the heart of Mike Sorrentino, who has long been open about his struggle with prescription drug addiction. That addiction developed during his time on reality show “Jersey Shore,” and followed him until 2015 — when he got sober…
