Another well-known Charlotte eatery has served its final customers, adding to the growing list of local restaurants forced to close as operating costs continue to climb.
33rd & Main, a popular seafood restaurant and food truck known for its stuffed seafood egg rolls and Southern-inspired dishes, permanently closed earlier this year. In a farewell message shared on social media, the owners said the decision came after months of rising food and fuel costs made it increasingly difficult to continue operating without compromising the quality customers had come to expect.
A neighborhood favorite
Located on Central Avenue in Charlotte, 33rd & Main built a loyal following with its seafood-focused menu, featuring stuffed seafood egg rolls, crab cakes, shrimp, fish and other comfort food favorites.
Before opening its brick-and-mortar restaurant, the business earned a strong reputation through its food truck, becoming a familiar sight at festivals, breweries and community events throughout the Plaza Midwood and Commonwealth neighborhoods.
Rising costs took their toll
