NORTH CAROLINA — The severe weather threat from Durham to Charlotte, west into the Piedmont, Mountains, and Foothills, is officially over as of 9:10 p.m. Tuesday following an active afternoon and evening across the region. Central and eastern North Carolina from Raleigh and Fayetteville east will continue seeing the risk of a few scattered strong to severe storms through roughly 11 p.m. to midnight, with the threat appearing to end faster in western areas.
Western North Carolina Gets the All Clear
Communities across the Piedmont, Mountains, and Foothills, including Charlotte, Boone, Asheville, and Hendersonville, have received the all clear as the severe weather threat that impacted the region Tuesday afternoon has ended.
Forecasters say they hope everyone made it through the afternoon and evening storms with limited damage, closing out an active stretch of weather across the western and central portions of the state.
Raleigh Area Should See Threat End Soon
The Raleigh area specifically is expected to see its severe weather risk wind down soon, with forecasters indicating this part of central North Carolina is among the first in the remaining risk zone to clear out.
