ARCHDALE, N.C. (WGHP) — At 22 years old, Jess Lockwood was atop the pro bull riding mountain as a two-time world champion.
Then addiction sent him to rock bottom. Through faith, family and strength, Lockwood brought himself out of addiction and is now the epitome of a true Carolina Cowboy.
“I was riding great,” Lockwood said. “I think I was number two in the world at the time. Then I had a big hamstring injury. It required a major hamstring reconstructive surgery. I was out for six months. Then we found out that my pelvis had been torn apart in the process, but we didn’t catch it. From there, things spiraled in life. I was out for a very long time with that second surgery and fell into addiction for two years.”…
