Severe thunderstorm warning issued for 2 counties in Charlotte region: What to know

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A severe thunderstorm warning was issued on Friday afternoon for two counties in the Charlotte region.

The warning was issued for Cabarrus and Rowan counties on Friday, Sept. 18, and will remain in effect until 4:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service said wind gusts up to 60 mph could be expected causing damage to trees and powerlines.
