City Council reversed course on the I-77 toll lane project after months of controversy. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education fired Superintendent Crystal Hill months after suspending, investigating and then reinstating her… and on the same night released a report saying its investigation found no improper conduct by her. And former City Council member Tiawana Brown was sentenced to 10 months in federal prison after pleading guilty in a COVID-relief fraud case.
Those are three very different stories. But taken together, they say something about this moment in Charlotte … and perhaps offer some lessons about how we navigate what comes next…
