Shooting suspect dead after pursuit ends in Augusta County, police say

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) – A suspect wanted for a shooting incident that killed two men in Manassas is dead Wednesday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he was located in Augusta County on later that morning morning.

Marvin Grant, 37, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was wanted for a shooting in Manassas City that was reported at 7:11 a.m. Wednesday. Manassas City Police Department said Grant shot three men — his coworkers — at United Rentals around 7 a.m. before leaving the area.

All three men were taken to the hospital in critical condition, though two victims have since died, according to MCPD. The third victim is in stable condition but still hospitalized. MCPD identified the two victims who died as Ricky Lamot, 48, and Christopher Serrano, 33. MCPD has not yet determined a motive.

After Grant left the area, MCPD began a phone ping for Grant’s cell phone, which placed the phone in Harrisonburg. MCPD then alerted Virginia State Police that he may be in Rockingham County…
