Police seize over 500 grams of meth during drug trafficking operation: CMPD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are highlighting their efforts to shut down major drug trafficking operations across the city and remove illegal drugs and weapons from the street.

Late last year, a community complaint of suspected narcotic activity prompted an investigation led by the department’s Vice & Narcotics unit with the help of Northeast Service Area and Northwest Service Area Crime Reduction units (CRUs).

During the investigation, police seized more than 540 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 1,168.7 grams of cocaine, over 710 grams of a “suspicious brown powder (which is currently pending laboratory analysis), and five firearms, including one confirmed to be stolen. Over $1,400 was also seized during the operation.

Police arrested Wang Meng Moua, 43, who police say is a convicted felon with prior narcotics and firearm-related offenses, and charged him with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, and several other trafficking and conspiracy charges from prior investigations…
