Woman pleads guilty in 2025 north Charlotte murder

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman was sentenced to over 17 years in prison for robbing and killing a man in north Charlotte last year.

Rebecca Oxendine pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the death of Loren Dudley, who was shot and killed in January 2025. According to an affidavit, Oxendine stole $200 and a cellphone from Dudley before shooting him with a shotgun.

DNA evidence linked Oxendine to the murder weapon. A witness outside Dudley’s home heard him calling for help from his vehicle. The witness ran into the home and found Dudley suffering from a gunshot wound…
