Firefighters save dog from large blaze at Concord home

CONCORD, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A fire heavily damaged a home in Concord Sunday evening.

The Concord Fire Department was called to the 200 block of Patrick Avenue SW around 5:09 p..m to a reported house fire. Crews arrived within three minutes to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the back of the residence on both the first and second stories.

Neighbors alerted the residents to the fire, and all occupants were safely evacuated from the home. The family told firefighters that their dog was still inside in the basement level of the home.

Officials say the dog was unconscious when firefighters rescued it from the home. Firefighters quickly used a pet oxygen mask and worked for 20 minutes to render aid. The dog was successfully revived…
