UVA Health researchers study Medicare plans’ impact on stroke care

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) — UVA Health researchers are shining a light on how different Medicare plans can change the care people receive to prevent and treat a stroke.

“We know that nearly72% of stroke patients in the United States have Medicare insurance, but there are some really important unanswered questions that we don’t know when it comes to Medicare insurance and stroke care,” said Dr. Jonathan Crowe, assistant professor and stroke neurologist at UVA Health.
