Nelson County purchases 683 acres along Route 29 corridor for future opportunities

LOVINGSTON, Va. (WSET) — Nelson County has acquired approximately 683 acres of land along the Route 29 corridor south of Lovingston in a move county leaders say will preserve local control over a key property identified for future economic development opportunities.

The county completed the purchase through a pre-auction agreement at a total cost of $8.925 million, according to county officials. The property is located in an area long recognized in county planning efforts for its transportation access and proximity to existing infrastructure.
