DAYTON, Va. (WHSV) – First responders from Harrisonburg, Rockingham County and Bridgewater are at the scene of a barn fire in Dayton on Wednesday afternoon.
The barn is located along the 400 block of Main Street in Dayton. The majority of the fire was put out in the first 30 minutes after firefighters responded, said Battalion Chief Clay Shiflet with Rockingham County Fire & Rescue. However, as of 6:15 p.m., the site was still smoking.
Shiflet reported no injuries to people or livestock, and he said the owner was not home at the time of the fire. There are traffic delays along Route 42, but Shiflet said they’re hoping to clear those soon…
