$100 lottery win leads Va. man to $100,000 prize

June 15 (UPI) — A Virginia man won $100 from a lottery ticket and used $5 of his winnings to buy a scratch-off ticket that earned him a $100,000 prize.

Stuarts Draft resident William Jackson told Virginia Lottery officials he scored $100 from a ticket at the Food Lion store on Stuarts Draft Highway and decided to use his winnings on groceries.

He had $5 left over after shopping, so he stopped at the lottery vending machine and bought a Cash Wheel scratch-off ticket.

Jackson scratched the ticket off before leaving the store and was shocked to reveal a $100,000 top prize…
