Harrisonburg man suspected of distributing narcotics arrested after pursuit

WARREN COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) – A Harrisonburg man suspected of “significant drug distribution activities affecting Warren County” was arrested Thursday after a pursuit that spanned Warren County, Front Royal and Shenandoah County, according to a Warren County Sheriff’s Office release.

The Northwest Virginia Regional Drug and Gang Task Force was targeting a wanted suspect, Brian Terrell Richardson of Harrisonburg, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office executed an enforcement operation upon task force investigators learning Richardson was traveling to Warren County on Thursday. WCSO deputes and the Special Operations Team led the operation and attempted a “high-risk” traffic stop on Interstate 66 eastbound, according to WCSO.

During the attempted traffic stop, Richardson failed to comply with law enforcement’s emergency lights and sirens, fleeing from deputies, WCSO said. Richardson exited I-66 at Exit 6 at a high rate of speed, sideswiping a passenger vehicle and causing visible damage and two flat tires to the vehicle while doing so.
