CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Doctors at UVA Health and Clemson University have developed a framework to help hospitals evaluate artificial intelligence tools without prioritizing cost savings over patient care.
Andrew Taylor, an emergency physician and professor at the UVA Emergency Medical Center, and Arwen Declan, a clinical assistant professor at Clemson University, created what they call the “Total Mission Value” framework, a five-priority checklist designed to measure how an AI tool affects both patients and staff.
