ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Albemarle County Fair is underway at James Monroe’s Highland Fairgrounds, marking its 44th year with food, vendors, entertainment, and a livestock competition featuring youth participants.
Jason Woodle, marketing and events manager at James Monroe’s Highland, said the animals and the young people showing them are the highlight of the fair.
“Really the star of the show, being an agricultural fair, is going to be the livestock and the kids out here that are showing these animals,” Woodle said. “And these kids have worked hard over the last year to prepare these animals and themselves to show in the ring.”…
