CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Today is a First Alert Weather Day due to the chances for damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and large hail. The main threat is damaging wind gusts, but Flood Watches are currently issued just outside our viewing area. A special weather statement also talks about the enhanced flood risk for our viewing area – so this is something we are going to be watching out for. The risk is slight for severe weather (2/5). We are already seeing pretty active weather early today – keep that in mind for your morning commute.
Still hot and humid with highs expected to reach the lower 90s. More cloud cover today which should help with the heat. Here’s your planner
YESTERDAY’S STORMS

Heavy rainfall was associated with these storms and over an inch of rain was reported in Earlysville. Significant damage was also reported at CHO. If you have any travel plans leaving from the Charlottesville Airport – check in on your flights as some may be delayed or cancelled.
