CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Charlottesville City Schools expanded access to the Seal of Biliteracy, which recognizes multilingual students who have demonstrated foreign language proficiency through state-selected exams.
The division now offers testing in more languages — including Dari, Pashto, Arabic and Swahili — to better reflect its diverse student population. Those languages aren’t taught in Charlottesville High School classrooms, but they’re spoken at home by many students in the division.
